The young Sakina Ahmed is a Bangalore-based designer who started humbly, designing out of her garage and with a single artisan. But it was her eye for designing, her flair for the traditional, her knowledge of textile and her love for zardozi to start with that catapulted her to becoming a multi-national designer label that caters to clients in the Middle-east, Europe, US, South-East Asia and, of course, India. Sakina unhesitatingly admits that “my brain is singularly limited to clothes designing”.
The exquisite line which Sakina calls “individual art work for the individual client”, is a result of years of hard work. The USP is complete customisation. “We follow a process I call channelization. We keep the customer involved at every stage of dress-making,” Sakina explains.
Expertise in embroidery, especially zardozi work, sets Sakina’s label apart. Dedicated master craftsmen have been busy with the needle for decades, making exquisite and intricate designs to embellish the range. “The high-point is our unique range of embroidered ensembles. Be it saris, lehengas, anarkalis or even fusion dresses, our artisans embroider art forms,” says the designer.
Sakina’s personal expertise is in the ageless zardozi work which she uses to establish tradition and richness in her label. The finery is tailor-made to suit all occasions and purses.
Sakina takes in special requests for textile enhancements. You can choose the textile and the embroidery, be it gota patti, ari, kantha, parsi, zardozi, phulkari, Kashmiri, Katchhi or chikankari to name a few. Complete satisfaction & “Complete artistry is our motto,” says Sakina.
